macOS Development Preview

SataLite 0.3.0 and SataLight 0.7.0, build macos-product-refinement-20261009-06.

These experimental builds are ad-hoc signed, not Developer ID signed or notarized, and not qualified customer releases. macOS may block them. Do not depend on them for a critical session; keep a backup of your project and previous plugins.

In This Update

Twelve new curated recipes share the same processing in both editions. Legacy presets remain available without rewriting saved sounds. SataLight adds reorganized Shape, Routing and Analyze workspaces while retaining its illuminated controls and visualizations. Edited presets keep their name and an asterisk. These are original digital effects, not claims of analog-hardware emulation.

Availability

SataLite is free. Select macOS on the product page. SataLight is a private preview for existing license holders, available through the recovery link in your purchase receipt. New preview sales are disabled on both platforms. Windows previews use the same product versions.

The ZIP includes both Audio Unit and VST3 bundles for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, requiring macOS 13 or later. Logic Pro uses Audio Unit; a compatible VST3 host uses VST3. These are effects, not standalone applications.

Manual Installation

  1. Save your session and quit every music host and plugin scanner.
  2. Extract the ZIP. Move any previous copies of these plugins to a backup folder outside all plugin scan locations.
  3. In Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder and open ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components. Copy the complete SataLite.component or SataLight.component bundle there.
  4. For VST3, copy the complete matching .vst3 bundle into ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3. Create these user folders if missing. Avoid duplicate user and system installations.
  5. Reopen your host and rescan the plugin in its plugin manager. In Logic, check the installed version in Plug-in Manager and insert Bunnycat Audio SataLite or SataLight.

Keep quarantine metadata and Gatekeeper enabled. Do not strip quarantine, bypass a blocked-code warning, or disable system security. If macOS rejects a downloaded build, stop and contact support; a preview is not a promise of installability on every Mac.

Preview Limits

Broad high-resolution host coverage, concurrent state operations and musical-preference acceptance remain qualification gates. These previews do not certify every host, project-recall sequence, automation workflow or macOS version.

Drive controls saturation intensity. Mix 0% is dry, 100% is wet, and 50% applies equal linear coefficients, not necessarily equal perceived loudness. A saturated wet signal retains the original fundamental; it is not just the added harmonics. Edited presets retain their name with an asterisk.

Restore a Previous Build

Save and quit the host. Move the preview bundles outside plugin scan folders, restore your complete backed-up bundles to their original locations, then reopen and rescan. Do not run a generic uninstaller or remove unrelated plugins.
